Who is Super Stolie? My Story.

Full-time musician Stolie (officially Rebecca Stoelinga) grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and currently resides on the northwest side of Chicago.  As a kid she learned to play piano and as a teenager, she taught herself guitar. As a young adult, she pursued a degree in music education from Illinois Wesleyan University, but all the while, Stolie was writing, recording and performing her original music on voice, guitar and piano.  

After 3 original album releases and years of touring the country as a pop-folk singer-songwriter, Stolie later found ways to continue music involvement, but to stay local -- working music publicity, teaching guitar and piano, and hammering out the cover tunes at bars from Wrigleyville to Wisconsin.  Her most recent endeavor showcases her live performance prowess before a whole new demographic -- children!

Super Stolie debuted on the children's music scene in 2006 when a friend asked her to play family-friendly tunes at a fundraiser for her child's school.  In early 2009, Stolie had written enough material for an album and released When I Grow Up, her first collection of original music for children.  Recorded in her home studio, Super Stolie performed on guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, harmonica, djembe, and programmed all the beats with Apple’s Garageband program.  The result is a full band-sounding rock album, glittered with Stolie's lyrical wit which has parents laughing, toddlers tongue-twisting, and has also proven to lull the little ones to sleep in the back of the car.

Super Stolie is excited to release Press Play!, her second collection of original children’s music!  Dedicated fans helped her surpass her funding goal by contributing to her CD project via Kickstarter, and they were the very first to hear the new CD before its official release date (11/6/12). As a solo act or with her band, The Rockstars, Super Stolie has entertained children and families at the Taste of Chicago, Navy Pier, Chicago Botanic Gardens’ “Dancin’ Sprouts” series, the Beat Kitchen’s children's concert series, suburban park district band shells and Chicago-area festivals including Ribfest, Do-Division and West Fest.  The live show is a high-energy experience, encouraging children to dance and freeze, hop and balance, and finish it all off with a 'Rockstar Jump' and a high five.  Super Stolie's original songs are so catchy that kids will skip away with the tunes in their head and positive messages to boot!
